Burnham Lake, Baguio city, Philippines walking tour.

Burnham park was constructed in 1905. The lake is manmade. The city hall is the located on the Northwest side of the lake. If you stand at the end of the lake in the Southeast side, you will have a great view of the City Hall, which we do in the middle of the walk. It takes about 20 minutes to walk around the lake, non stop, but of course, you are there to wander and take in the views of the lake, the people you meet and see biking or boating. There are fishes on the lake, mostly carp or tilapia but they are obscured mostly by the green algae that also gives the light green shade of the lake.

A venerable activity when visiting the park is to enjoy boating. Boats have evolved from simple flat bottomed, shaded boats to the current swan shaped of even Disney inspired characters on the boats. They are all powered by oars which is easy to learn to maneuver. Biking is also a very popular activity which have also evolved from the simple bicycle to the tricycles, quadcycles and other iterations of leg-powered vehicles.

A rose garden is located also at the front (northwest side) and has been upgraded with a water fountain that fires up regularly on a daily time schedule.
